HI THERE!

What is The Welcome Table Project?

The Welcome Table Project is a faith-based non-profit organization committed to supporting the development of resources for small group settings in ministries, communities, and families that reflect the diverse love of God. Through in-depth research, interactive workshops, and guided focus group discussions, our goal is to help create meaningful tools that inspire connection, reflection, and transformation in everyday settings. Whether in a church, a home, or a neighborhood gathering, we believe small groups are powerful spaces for creating lasting change and healing. At the heart of our work is a desire to see lives shaped by grace, and shared wisdom. We invite you to pull up a chair and join the conversation at The Welcome Table Project.

YOU ARE WELCOME HERE!

Welcome!

This Project, is an invitation to come as you are — to bring your full, authentic self — to pull up a chair and share your story. Here, you are welcomed into a space shaped by grace, where your voice matters and your presence is enough. We aim to create spaces where people can see themselves and one another through the lens of love, understanding, and the hope we have in a God who loves us just the way we are.

SISTERS

This is who we are!

Same sisters, same mission, slightly different approach! The Welcome Table Project is led by the Bunce sisters, known to many as “The Bunce Girls,” and founders of The Welcome Table®. They are originally from Lexington, North Carolina. Raised in a family shaped by the values of faith, justice, education, and the arts, their upbringing was rooted in service and thoughtful expression. With a heritage that includes music ministers, a pastor, a professor, and an attorney, their early formation emphasized the power of voice—through music, dialogue, and meaningful conversation. Many of their most formative experiences took place around the table, where shared meals gave way to shared stories, laughter, and spiritual reflection. These gatherings instilled in them a deep belief in the sacredness of community and the transformative potential of honest conversation. The Welcome Table Project seeks to carry that legacy forward by supporting research that might lead to resources that support small groups in ministries, communities, and families—spaces where every voice is heard, every person is valued, and faith is lived out in relationship.
